"...rocket's red glare..."

i got set up in time for the announced start of the fireworks, but the fireworks went off early due to the haze and clouds of the day.  not only was i there only for the last few moments - and busily trying to set the tipod, frame the image, get a couple of test shots in to get the setttings right, and trying to remember how to time my shutter clicks, and thus missing most of the finale - but the sky got less cloudy by the time they would have started and would have made for much better fireworks viewing...well, what do i know?!

this was my first decent shot.  there actually is a lot of detail in the firework and in the moon but hard to tell on this web version :(
